Volunteer to Water Downtown Flowers
The beauty of Downtown Shelby depends on dedicated community members like you! While the City of Shelby team takes care of watering flowers on weekdays, we’re looking for volunteers to help on weekends and holidays from May through October. We’re asking volunteers to sign up for a full weekend or holiday, watering the downtown flower planters at 9:00 AM each day. You’ll be using a provided golf cart and watering system — it’s fun, simple, and a great way to give back.
Volunteer Requirements
Be available for both Saturday and Sunday (or a single holiday date)
Be comfortable driving a golf cart
Have a passion for keeping Shelby beautiful!
Training & Support
Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! Volunteers will receive instructions and a short training video a few days before their scheduled shift. This will walk you through how to operate the golf cart and the watering process so you can feel confident and prepared.
